British Government Forces,
Early 18th Century

Our government force combines the men of the local militia with the might of the Royal Navy . The militiamen in their redcoats and tricornes can never quite match the dash of their foppish officers, but with each man an experienced musketeer and swordsman they are more than capable of handling whatever is thrown at them. Together with the blue-coated Royal Navy tars, armed to the teeth with cutlass, musket or boarding pike, they present the belligerent face of the law in the godless outposts of the slowly-burgeoning empire.

Whether supporting the excise men and riding officers, bringing smugglers and pirates to justice, or suppressing revolt and villainy, we strive to maintain our reputation for enthusiasm, education and enjoyment.

As well as soldiers and sailors there is plenty of scope in the group for civilian roles. The fires are kept burning back at the camp, where authentic period food is prepared and displayed by the ship’s cook and his crew of galley hands.

Nelson's Navy

Our Battle of Trafalgar-era Royal Navy party, complete with well-cut officers and surly bosuns, can turn their hand to anything from educational living history displays, to daring missions against the land forces of the Tyrant.

With researched activities, uniforms and equipment, our Nelsonic portrayal is well suited to heritage and learning events.
